Vampire Diaries Post Mortem – The Five

And once again I am late with my post mortem, but to be honest—this week it was because I didn’t think I could type it without saying “I hate Stefan” every other line. But boy, let me tell you—as much as I have not cared for Stefan in the past, the episode “The Five” is really testing my last nerve with him.  Oh and as for Bonnie? She’s still dead to me for what happened to Grams, but she still managed to irritate me in this episode. Let’s discuss… Bluffy the Vampire Slayer’s Origins So Connor has no idea how […]

Vampire Diaries Post Mortem The Rager

Yep, I’m days late with this post mortem and I blame deadlines for it, but here I am after rewatching the episode this morning ready to do my breakdown. Don’t worry Once Upon a Time fans, I’m writing up that post mortem next. I want to say that I loved this episode and there was certainly lots to love—but one character storyline in particular made me angry. Really angry. The character in question is Stefan Salvatore. Most of the time I like Stefan, I do. He’s not my favorite, but he’s not a waste of space either. I used to […]

Vampire Diaries Post Mortem: The Departed

A very large part of me doesn’t want to write the post mortem right away. I want to linger with the last episode, savoring every drop of action and emotion on my mental palate. I’m a little bit in denial, as with the previous two seasons, I love and hate this year’s finale. Brace yourselves, because here we go. Head Injuries When we last saw Elena, she collapsed in the master bedroom of the Gilbert house, blood flowing from her nose. The episode opens with a dream sequence and Elena dancing to music as she gets ready for school. Aunt […]

Vampire Diaries Post Mortem: Before Sunset

In the penultimate episode of season three, the stories that seemed stuck in idle hit the pedal to the metal for the residents of Mystic Falls.  While I was clear that I was not a fan of last week’s episode, I knew Matt Davis’ evil Rick would juice up the landscape and give this storyline the necessary pump forward. It was a hell of an episode so drop your socks and grab your crocks, we’re going to get wet on this ride. Vampire Barbie & Skipper Make a Great Team Unbeknownst to all our heroes and heroines, Rick turned at the […]

Vampire Diaries Post Mortem: Do Not Go Gentle

As you can imagine, counting down these final episodes hasn’t been easy and I expected a bit of a let down after that phenomenal Heart of Darkness kiss between Damon and Elena, but what I didn’t expect was to find the third to the last episode, the game changer, so very ‘meh’. Decades Dance  You know a decades dance is coming that means blood, danger and something terrible while all our favorites are dressed for fun. It also typically means we get ‘time’ at the dance, but the arrival of the 1920s dance finds Elena awkwardly asking Stefan to be […]
