Do you remember a few years back when they made the exciting announcement that Spiderman would be appearing in Captain America: Civil War? It was kind of bittersweet, first, Spidey was coming home to the MCU. Yet at the same time, they were recasting Andrew Garfield. For years, I’ve waited for a live action Wonder Woman. First it was the floated Joss Whedon script, then the possible live action Wonder Woman with Adrianne Palicki, then back to another live action film. Then DC witnessed the rise of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and they got the lead out. They launched Man of Steel, then followed it up with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Suicide Squad. Review: The Twilight Saga: New Moon

A new moon hangs high above the dense cloud cover in Forks, Washington where Bella Swann turns eighteen, her birthday goes all wrong and Edward, who swore never to leave her, does. The contrived separation of the central couple feels as forced in the film as it did in the novel, yet from the moment of Edward’s departure, the film picks up the pace with snappier dialogue, interesting cinematography and the story of Jacob Black, Bella’s best friend who has a secret of his own.
