Burn Author Note
Dear Reader,
Welcome to the first book of a brand new series. Blood Brothers will be five books total. I am super excited to be sharing these characters with you. They’ve been living rather rent-free in my head for over three years. You see, many moons ago, Blake Blessing and I were in Seattle for a week long writing get away and hanging out with our friend Sara.
At the time, we were wrapping up a book in the Cardinal Sins series and Blake was working on plotting out a new book and series that would come out a couple of years later. The name of that series Bastard Brothers of Carnage. As we threw the ideas back and forth, I said rather “randomly” I want to write Grace’s story. She said, yes!
Yes, Grace Black, the fmc of this book is the identical twin of Amorette Black, the fmc of Bastard Brothers of Carnage. While we collaborated on their backgrounds, and their flashbacks, everything else is independent. They are written specifically so you do not have to read one series to read another. Obviously, we won’t tell you no if you want to read any of the books in either of our respective worlds (and shared ones), but we love making every series accessible to new readers.
I’ve literally had these characters in the back of my head for over three years. When I sat down to write Burn, the characters, the words, even the situations just flowed. I am already eager to dive into the next book and I can’t wait to hear your thoughts.
Please be aware this book contains content with dark themes and intense situations intended for mature audiences only, including but not limited to: sexual assault, dubious consent, physical violence, emotional and mental abuse, as well as kidnapping, stalking, manipulation, and other potentially triggering topics.
And now, as always, the housekeeping notes:
For those of you who have never read a why choose, or reverse harem before, first let me thank you for picking this up and giving it a shot. Second, the heroine will not make a choice in this book or any other between the guys in her life. It may take her a while to reach that conclusion, but it’s the journey that drives it. There are many ways to frame this kind of relationship, currently why choose fits it very well.
I’ll see you on the flip side.
xoxo
Heather
